Blog or weblog both are familiar right now, as it has been widely spread out in every single website
which provide blog services such as multiply, technorati, friendster, etc. Amazingly there is one particular website
which focused on discussing blog, namely www.ayongeblog.com.
Perhaps, what bear in our mind when accessing to this site, what actually makes
‘blog’ becoming so commonly this year?

Blog is a representation of the author,
in the way of their thought, experience, feeling, etc. According to John
Blagger, the first person who use this term, said that blog is a name that
stands for weblog, which referring to group of particular website that always
be updated continuously and consists of certain website link which has
testimony from another blogger.

As time goes by, blog started to redefine
himself in which caused by the bloggers that more challenged to characterize
their own blog. Firstly, Blog is used to provide significant information,
recently articles, or as a selling system of particular product or even kind of
advertisement just like we seen on virtual.co.id or ndorokakung.com. Lately, it
is used as a “Diary Online” where others could read or access it.

According to Sofia Kartika, who works in Foundation of Women
Journal in an article entitled “ Blog” More than
Fashion:

Blog is an alternative space of media to satisfy a necessity
in writing experiences which felt by those (women in Foundation of Women
Journal) in terms of strengthening women’s right

Journalistically, blog is a self-publishing, a journalism
which publishes independently. (Dhika’s
blog in an article entitled “Muslim’s Blog and a simple mind”).

Blog or Blogger,
this is a space for those who like to write or read an individual creativity that
can be accessed or read by thousands people, within variation of written-text.
Its variation could be an announcement, article, hot news, district news or
even an advertisement.

What makes it so
phenomena are the easiness in creating its blog, which can be started by
setting it up or customizes its blog design, categorizes its writing whether it
is general or private, and determine its writing whether it is public or
restricted.

A blog also consists of certain themes,
for example: Dreams. The content of this blog could be dreams, wishes of the
author, dreams of childhood, dreams of teenager, or even dreams of old-days.

Generally, blog is a personal website
which now commonly becoming a trend that accessed by every social class,
whether beginner or professional, in sharing their experiences, thoughts,
opinion, or even their points of view. In short, blog could be said as an
expression of self-existence.

Blog also becoming a space for
youngsters who like to write, sharing their ideas, critical thoughts in responding
problems economically, socially, politically, educationally, or even
culturally. This kind of blog could be a representative of speak up your mind
through media, just as quoted by Dewi Satriyani on Vote Blogger For Documentary
Film, said that blog is a form of avoidance toward media domination.

As we known so far, young
author such as Ayu Utami which famous of “ Larung & Saman”, Andrea Hirata
“Laskar Pelangi”, Langit Kresna Hariadi “Gajah Mada” are successful authors
that began their career based on a creativity in sharing their ideas, thoughts,
and experiences critically and straightforwardly.

Ayu Utami, which
known as “Larung& Saman”, emerges pro and contra as it focused on
pornography topics on how a priest freely having sexual with a married-woman.
On the other hand, it told political phenomena on how politicians or government
always oppress lower class.

In this article,
I won’t describe or explain how a masterpiece depicts situation politically.
I’m trying to focus on how developed-technology that grows rapidly could
decrease space and time for the authors right now. In the past, to be an
author, we have to send our writing to certain publisher. Nowadays, the
publisher or the great authors could read or access our writing easily through
‘Blog’.

Shortly, the
usages of blog have widely spread out, it does not focused on how to publish
science articles, hot news, facts, earthquake news, but a writing of certain literature
works could be applied in this blog. There is one trend that emerge in writing
a blog, that is “To be a good author,
write as more as you can. Write what you want to write, and think freely “
